This is the official Chordata Knowledge Base!

Chordata is a web app solution to the complicated data and digital asset management needs unique to music publishing. At its core, it is a highly searchable database that allows a publishing house to organize and validate data pertaining to all aspects of a published item. Chordata also provides tools for workflow and asset management.

Chordata evolved from a combination of necessities:

• a more efficient, web-based content to page-layout template system
• a digital asset management system
• a general need for a better data model
• music specific data validation
• a separation of concerns regarding product vs. intellectual property
